AOPEN Chrome Product Limited Warranty Service Policy

Warranty


This product limited warranty policy applies to AOPEN Chromebox Commercial products and Chromebase Commercial products which were sold and purchased from AOPEN America or AOPEN America authorized Resellers. AOPEN warrants its Chromebox Commercial product and Chromebase Commercial product to be free from defects in materials and workmanships during product warranty period from the original date of purchase. This warranty applies only to products that are new on the date of purchase and is valid only for the original buyer and not transferable. The warranty policy does not cover any special bundled Mounting Brackets, Stands or Cabling, or other miscellaneous hardware and accessories which may have been delivered together with the AOPEN Chromebox Commercial product(s) or Chromebase Commercial product(s).

The limited warranty does not cover any damage that is caused by improper usage, handling, transportation or packing during the return of products to AOPEN or AOPEN authorized service providers. Within the warranty period, RMA returned products for warranty service shall be repaired or replaced, determined at AOPEN’s sole discretion. Any AOPEN Chromebox Commercial product(s) or Chromebase Commercial product(s) which repaired or replaced by AOPEN will be under warranty for the remaining period of the original warranty or for no less than 3 months from date of return.

There are no user serviceable parts inside the AOPEN Chromebox Commercial product or Chromebase Commercial product. Do not allow any unauthorized service provider or personnel to open the housing, repair or modify the product. RMA product returned for warranty service should be returned in the original product configuration, if evidence of tampering is detected, the warranty will be considered null and void.

AOPEN does not have any obligations to provide RMA warranty services if the customer fails to pay any invoices that are past due even if the products are still under warranty.
AOPEN Chromebox Commercial product or Chromebase Commercial product is pre-configured with and utilizes the Chrome OS as an operating system; before contacting AOPEN or requesting a RMA for warranty service, or to learn more about any problem(s), please review the product manual or check AOPEN or Google online help center for immediate self-service support. Support and warranty service for any product with an altered operating system will be limited and at the discretion of AOPEN.
AOPEN is not the manufacturer of the software or operating system and does not guarantee that software or operating systems will be free from errors, either in isolation or in combination with the hardware. For third party software related question and support, please refer to the third party software companies website and help center for support.
LIMITATION AND EXCLUSION
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER AND AOPEN IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR:

a) MINOR IMPERFECTIONS IN PRODUCTS THAT OTHERWISE MEET DESIGNED SPECIFICATIONS OR IMPERFECTIONS THAT DO NOT MATERIALLY ALTER FUNCTIONALITY OF THE AOPEN CHROMEBOX COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS OR CHROMEBASE COMMERCIAL PRODUCTS;
b) PHYSICAL DAMAGE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGE FROM DROPS, IMPACTS OR COLLISIONS;
c) DAMAGES CAUSED BY MISUSE, ABUSE, ACCIDENTS, FIRE, THEFT, FLOOD, WIND, FREEZING, DISAPPEARANCE, MISPLACEMENT, FLUCTUATIONS AND POWER SURGES, CONNECTIONS TO IMPROPER VOLTAGE OR INCORRECT ELECTRICAL LINE VOLTAGE, SOFTWARE VIRUSES, MALWARE, RECKLESS, WILLFUL, OR INTENTIONAL CONDUCT, UNUSUAL ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS, ACTS OF WAR OR ACTS OF GOD;
d) SERVICE NECESSARY BECAUSE OF IMPROPER STORAGE, IMPROPER VENTILATION, INCLUDING FAILURE TO PLACE THE AOPEN CHROME PRODUCTS IN AN AREA THAT COMPLIES WITH THE AOPEN SUGGESTED AND PUBLISHED SPACE OR ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS. MISUSE, ABUSE AND ANY UTILIZATION OF THE AOPEN CHROME PRODUCTS THAT IS INCONSISTENT WITH EITHER THE DESIGN OF THE PRODUCTS OR THE WAY THE MANUFACTURER INTENDED THE PRODUCTS, INCLUDING CASES IN WHICH the MANUFACTURER OF THE EQUIPMENT WOULD NOT HONOR ANY WARRANTY;
e) COSMETIC DAMAGES SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO SCRATCHES, DENTS, RUST, AND STAINS. NON-FUNCTIONAL PARTS SUCH AS BUT NOT LIMITED TO, PLASTICS, FINISHES, KNOBS, AND DIALS. EXPENDABLE OR LOST ITEMS, SUCH AS, BUT NOT LIMITED TO BATTERIES, OR CABLES. CONSUMABLE ITEMS; CONSUMABLE ITEMS ARE DEFINED AS ANY PART THAT IS CONSIDERED CONSUMABLE BY THE MANUFACTURER AND/OR ANY ITEM THAT IS DESIGNED TO CONSUMED (WEAR OUT) DURING THE LIFE OF THE PRODUCT, REGARDLESS IF IT IS CONSUMER REPLACEABLE OR NOT. CONSUMABLE ITEMS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: LIGHT BULBS, LAMPS, LIGHT EMITTING DIODES, AND BATTERIES;
f) OPERATIONAL OR MECHANICAL FAILURE WHICH IS NOT REPORTED PRIOR TO EXPIRATION OF THIS WARRANTY AGREEMENT OR WITHIN 30 DAYS OF PRODUCT FAILURE;
g) CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES AS A RESULT OF MALFUNCTIONING OF OR DAMAGE TO AN OPERATING PART OF THE COVERED PRODUCT, OR DAMAGES AS RESULT OF ANY REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENTS UNDER THIS WARRANTY AGREEMENT. DAMAGES CAUSED BY DELAYS IN RENDERING SERVICES, OR LOSS OF USE DURING THE PERIOD THAT THE PRODUCT IS AT THE AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER (IF APPLICABLE), OR OTHERWISE AWAITING PARTS, ARE NOT COVERED;
h) ANY SOFTWARE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, APPLICATION PROGRAMS, NETWORK PROGRAMS, UPGRADES, FORMATTING OF ANY KIND, DATABASES, FILES, DRIVERS, SOURCE CODE, OBJECT CODE OR PROPRIETARY DATA, OR ANY SUPPORT, CONFIGURATION, INSTALLATION OR REINSTALLATION OF ANY SOFTWARE OR DATA. YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR CREATING BACK-UPS OF ALL YOUR DATA AND SOFTWARE;
i) NORMAL, PERIODIC OR PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO PRODUCT TRAINING, ADJUSTMENTS, OR CLEANINGS;
j) SIGNAL ISSUES, RECEPTION PROBLEMS AND DISTORTION RELATED TO NOISE, ECHO, INTERFERENCE OR OTHER SIGNAL TRANSMISSION AND DELIVERY PROBLEMS;
k) RESULTS OF NORMAL USAGE, SUCH AS GRADUAL IMAGE DEGRADATION, UNEVEN SCREEN AGING, BURNED-IN IMAGES AND PIXEL FAILURE WITHIN DESIGNED SPECIFICATIONS OR THAT DO NOT MATERIALLY ALTER THE PRODUCTS FUNCTIONALITY;
l) SOFTWARE, INCLUDING THE OPERATING SYSTEM AND SOFTWARE ADDED TO YOUR PRODUCT THROUGH OUR FACTORY-INTEGRATION SYSTEM, THIRD-PARTY SOFTWARE, OR THE RELOADING OF SOFTWARE; m) LOSS OR DAMAGE AS A RESULT OF VIOLATION OF EXISTING FEDERAL, STATE AND MUNICIPAL CODES INCLUDING REPAIRS TO PRODUCTS NOT COMPLYING WITH SAID CODES;
n) PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS (INCURRED PRIOR TO THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF COVERAGE), KNOWN TO YOU;
o) THE AOPEN CHROME PRODUCT WHERE THE SERIAL NUMBER LABEL, OR OTHER UNIQUE IDENTIFYING LABEL OR MARK, IS REMOVED, DEFACED OR MADE ILLEGIBLE;
p) EXCEPT DURING THE COURSE OF PROVIDING THE SERVICES, ANY INSTALLATION, REMOVAL, RELOCATION, OR REINSTALLATION OF ANY AOPEN CHROME PRODUCT;
q) ANY COST RECOVERABLE UNDER ANY OTHER WARRANTY, GUARANTEE, OR UNDER AN INSURANCE POLICY (IN SUCH CASE, AND AT AOPEN’S DISCRETION, THIS WARRANTY AGREEMENT MAY COVER THE APPLICABLE DEDUCTIBLE);
r) DAMAGE WHICH IS NOT REPORTED PRIOR TO THE EXPIRATION OF THIS WARRANTY AGREEMENT;
s) DAMAGES CAUSED BY SERVICES NOT AUTHORIZED OR PROVIDED BY AOPEN OR AN AUTHORIZED AFFILIATE;
t) DAMAGES CAUSED BY USAGE THAT IS NOT IN ACCORDANCE WITH PRODUCT’S INSTRUCTIONS.
Back up all your data and remove any confidential and proprietary information on the storage device. It is the customer's sole responsibility to back up all data. AOPEN shall have no liability with respect to data lost, regardless of the cause. AOPEN is not liable for and has no obligation to pay for any cost associated with data recovery.

Ensure you have the following information readily available, your AOPEN product’s model name, serial number, sales invoice/receipt with date of purchase and warranty card. You may be required to provide proof of purchase before warranty service can be performed.

Do not return any product until you receive a valid RMA number from AOPEN. Any products received without a valid RMA number will be rejected and returned to sender.
  1. Return shipping charges for product shipments from customer to AOPEN authorized service provider are the responsibility of the customer. Customer will assume all risks of loss. Customer agrees to maintain or purchase general product insurance to fully protect the products that are shipped in the event of any loss or damage during transit.

  2. AOPEN will cover shipping costs for shipments from the AOPEN authorized service provider to the customer within the country that the AOPEN authorized service provider resides. AOPEN will assume all risks of loss or damage during transit to customer.

  3. Customer shall pay all broker fees, duties and taxes incurred in shipping product to and from the AOPEN authorized service provider, including but not limited to, shipments of defective products to AOPEN.

  1. It is recommended that the customer ships the product in its original packaging.

  2. A valid AOPEN RMA number must be clearly marked on the outside of all return packages.

  3. An approved RMA request form must be included either inside or outside of the shipping container, the returned RMA product must match to the original RMA request.

  4. Returned products must be packaged properly to avoid any shipping damage. Any damage or loss of returned goods during transportation shall be the sole responsibility of the shipper.

  5. RMA shipments must not be returned with any accessories or peripherals if you are not asked to send back such accessories or peripherals. AOPEN will not return nor bear any responsibility for accessories shipped along with returned product.

  2. Issuance of RMA Number

    • The AOPEN online RMA system will validate product warranty then issue an RMA number if the requested product is still within the warranty period.

    • The AOPEN RMA department will validate product warranty according to provided product information and then will issue a RMA number within 24 hours.


  3. Shipping

    • AOPEN RMA number must be clearly marked on the outside of all returned packages.

    • Attach the approved RMA request form to packing list for each return.

    • The RMA product must be received by the AOPEN authorized service provider for depot service within 14 days or the shipment may be refused.


  4. Receiving

    • The AOPEN authorized service provider will verify receipt, and inspect the content for product integrity and will process according to RMA service category.

    • AOPEN reserves the right to reject any improperly packaged products, or shipment without valid RMA Number, approved RMA request form, mismatched serial number, or non-AOPEN product.


  5. Closing

    • AOPEN authorized service provider will ship repaired or replacement product within 5 working days from the received date.

    • Customer will be contacted if repair charges are required for the product within warranty period, or for non-warranty product requiring extensive repairs.

    • All shipping damage claims are the responsibility of the customer. Inspect each shipment upon delivery and IMMEDIATELY report any damage to the carrier. There may be time limits and inspections may be required.


AOPEN warranty does not cover products which have been received improperly packaged, altered, or physically damaged. Products are to be inspected upon receipt.

This warranty agreement is subject to change without prior notice, AOPEN reserve the right to void the warranty if the product was not purchased from an authorized Distributor or Reseller, or this product was not sold as new.

  • Dented case or housing

  • Dented top cover or housing

  • Deep scratches

  • Loose, damaged, or missing screws

  • Stripped mounting hole threads

AOPEN IS NOT LIABLE FOR AND SPECIFICALLY DISCLAIMS ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL, DIRECT OR INDIRECT, STATUTORY, PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOST PROFITS, LOSS BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY OR LOSS OF USE BASED ON ANY LEGAL THEORY, OR FOR ANY SOFTWARE OR DATA THAT MAY BE LOST DUE TO HARDWARE FAILURE OR SERVICING IN ACCORDANCE WITH THIS WARRANTY.
EXCEPT FOR THE WARRANTIES SET FORTH HEREIN, AOPEN DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER WARRANTIES EXPRESS OR IMPLIED INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM A COURSE OF DEALING, USAGE, OR TRADE. ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES THAT MAY BE IMPOSED BY APPLICABLE LAW ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.
